Motorcycle clothing storage tips

You arrive home after a long ride and just want to get out of your clothes. But where do you put them? Motorcycle suits are heavy, bulky, and take up a good third of your wardrobe! Finding a suitable place for them isn't always easy. Plus, motorcycle gear requires constant maintenance that you shouldn't neglect.

Immediate cleaning, do not let it drag.

Even though it's annoying: Clean them right after your ride. Flies and dried dirt are difficult to remove, and you don't want to damage the leather. Follow these tips as soon as you get home:

1. Place a damp paper towel on the visor and let it soak. For particularly stubborn dirt Add dish soap and wipe.
2. Hang your suit up directly; it's so much easier to clean than if it's lying on the floor.
3. You can clean your suit more easily in the shower than in any other room in the apartment.
4. Don't fold your suit like a sweater in the closet – this can have a huge impact on the quality of the leather, as it will become brittle.

Once your motorcycle gear is clean, it needs to be stored. One option is your wardrobe – after all, it's clothing. However, you'll need at least an arm's length of space, which unfortunately isn't much. Most hangers aren't designed for that kind of weight and will break. There are special protective covers for storing your leather suit over the winter. Make sure you condition the suit with leather conditioner. Do not use too much conditioner so the material can breathe.
Alternatively, you can use saddle grease, which is significantly cheaper than conventional leather care products for motorcycle suits.
